The singer was born on the 26th of November 1986 at Santa Monica California in the United States of America. The singer is the child of father Vincenzo Barba and her mother Valerie Barba. Her family and she moved from Point Pleasant, New Jersey at the age of six. Red Bank Catholic High School was where she got the formal education she needed within New Jersey. Following her graduation at Catholic University with a Bachelor's in Architecture She continued to pursue her studies at the university. As well, she played the violin at the age of 4, and was also known for her role as Violin Lady. As a result of her music performance, she was referred to as Violin Girl. She also taught children from within the community how to play the violin. For the sixth season of American Idol, she sang Free in the year 1976, when she was nineteen.
